Quick note before we start.
There's no official list of "the 12 dimensions of Health."
You won't find this exact list in any textbook. This is what mad sense to me. And it shows the beautiful complexity of human existence! Think of it as 12 different aspects of human life.
Here's the pattern aka HABIT I'm observing within the human collective :
we THINK we're prioritising our Health... And then we skip the workout, eat like garbage, smoke a j*int, drink half a bottle of wine, scroll until 1am and call it "stress relief" instead of asking ourselves WHY?
Why am I doing this? What does my Inner Self ACTUALLY need from me right now?
Every time you say you'll do something for your Health AND for Your Self, and then you don't follow through, it costs you more than the missed goal.
It teaches your own nervous system, your inner child, that your word doesn't mean squat.
Do that enough times and you stop trusting yourself. People around you feel it too, even when they can't put a finger on it, because the truth always leaks out somehow.
Integrity with your own Self is what's actually being measured here. Quietly, underneath everything else.
For years I thought I was somewhat healthy. Prioritising my Health at least in some ways. I didn't know there could possibly be LAYERS to Health.. I didn't even know what Health actually meant for me. I never asked myself the question.. And as most of us, I took Health for granted. Which, of course, backfired. Du-uh!
I'd stay up too late, drink, smoke, pretend I'm fine, constantly criticise myself in the privacy of my own head, put myself down, kept finding myself in toxic situationships, kept ignoring what my body was telling me, and numbing out instead of dealing with what was ACTUALLY going on.
I'd feel anxious, depressed, hopeless, a burden, wanting to disappear from the face of the Earth, making myself as small and invisible as possible, saying I hate people, feeling angry towards everything and everyone, because the whole f*cking world was against me. Like I have no business existing.
And somewhere deep down, I knew there's a deeper truth to my existence. There has to be more to life than lies, pretending and repeating the same thoughts and actions which lead to the same situations that leave me feeling the exact same way.
I told myself these lies because it felt better in the moment. But it never lasted. Because nothing actually changed. I was still tired. Still disconnected from my own body. Still abandoning myself. Still avoiding the truth about where I really was. How UNHEALTHY my inner and outer life is.
So I had to get brutally honest with myself. About how I'd actually been showing up. About how far away I was from living up to my core values of Health, Freedom, Integrity, Growth and Connection.
And once I committed myself to stop lying to myself about how I've been showing up in my life and took responsibility for my thoughts, actions and emotions, my health started to shift on all levels.
This Quiz is made of 12 questions built to bring AWARENESS to that exact gap between what you say vs what you actually do. Are you ready to get honest with yourself?
